lesson 7: The fruit of the Spirit is Goodness

We are still searching for goodness to shine from those whom we admire. It seems like every week a new “role model” is caught doing something that shatters their status from the club of good people. I am equally amused by the amount of fanfare they receive at those moments failure. You know the story, poster boy for Golf, Tiger Wood one of the few good guys has left that club, and is not coming back anytime soon. Everything he does now is looked at as evil, as a calculated equation from his part to regain his good ol’ boy image, this coming from a person that a few weeks ago walked on water.
So what is a good person? What happen to all the goodness in the world? Can goodness ever be attainable?
When I look around it seems that, we’ve lost the battle. I mean missionaries in Haiti, being charge of kidnapping kids. A Constant fight in the church from those whom want control, and well you can look around you and see that goodness is hard to find.
Is it attainable?
I believe it is, after all is not the result of anything you and I do.

Romans 3:23 (New International Version)
“23for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God”
Thanx for the hope Juanfer… hold up I’m not done yet,
“24and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.”

When we confess to God, when we go to him and say, “hey sorry it took me this long to figure out I’m a sinner… how can you fix this up” He lets you know he already took care of the problem.
Goodness is the result of close relationship with Christ.
“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them” (Eph. 2:10, NKJV).
Goodness is what you and I were created for, there’s no running away from being good when you walk with Christ. Real goodness cannot be fake, real goodness is not an outward action, is an action that comes from the heart Jesus put in you.
David had been taking it easy for a while, after all the battles and endless nights away from home, he had decided to skip this fight. As boredom crept in and David’s wondering eyes glazed over his beloved city, a great vision caught his attention. Soon after, David’s actions became very shady, sex, murder, cover up stories to name a few. Yet the day came up when He was confronted with his sins… David gets up and does something that exemplifies goodness
He cries

Against you, you only, have I sinned
and done what is evil in your sight,
10 Create in me a pure heart, O God,
and renew a steadfast spirit within me.
11 Do not cast me from your presence
or take your Holy Spirit from me.

I don’t know about you, but this is my prayer to God! This is the true source of Goodness!
