“Justification by Faith”, a topic that has been one of the most challenging subjects to understand by few people, a one that has been a favorite topic for theologians to discuss, a one that remains to be a doctrinal area of research and analysis for few other intellectuals, and a topic for the rest of the Christian world who don’t even bother to care about due to the assumption of it being a very complicated concept to grasp.

My dear friends, I would like to start humbly by reminding everyone including myself that, this topic is more than just being a concept that needs to be broken down and understood, I personally believe that it is not about the complexity of how it relates to us in our lives, but rather who does it relate us to and the way our lives are transformed and never remain the same again.

Let’s use the word of God directly to understand this topic in an old fashioned way – Going through the verses one at a time.

Fact 1: Law of God – A guide to sin (Romans 3:19, 20)

The law of God (Commandments of God) is a clear baseline established to reveal our sinful nature. It is like a mirror that shows our flaws and faults and that is the sole purpose of the law. It represents God’s character which is without blemish, thus helping us understand as to the kind of life we need to be living. So one of the common mistakes as Christians we tend to do is try and do our best to follow the law carefully with the assumption that we will be saved by doing so. It is by the law, that we humans gain the knowledge of sin and its consequences. But in no way is redemption from sin.

Fact 2: God’s righteousness is different from our own righteousness (Romans 3:21)

The law of God requires us to be righteous, but the righteousness (making ourselves right with God) that we earn by keeping the law is unfortunately not up to the standards of God, not because we are not doing our best, but because we are sinners by birth and it doesn’t match up to God’s expected righteousness. Hence we can come to a conclusion that, we need God’s righteousness and only place we get that is from God Himself. That’s where Jesus Christ comes into picture.

Fact 3: God’s righteousness – An unmerited favor, justified by faith in Jesus Christ (Romans 3:22, 23, 24, 25, 26)

Jesus Christ gives us that righteousness, which we cannot claim using our deeds and the only way we can claim it is by faith in Him, for He gave us His righteous blood on the cross. Jesus Christ gives it to us as an expression of His grace (A worthy favor towards an unworthy soul) towards, not because we deserve it for doing some good deeds, but because He loves us and He wants us to be saved. Jesus knows that the only way we can be saved and be presented before His father without blemish is by using His robe of righteousness. For the bible says – “But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.” Isaiah 64:6

Fact 4: Now that we have God’s righteousness, Can we break the law? (Romans 3:28)

It is a blessing that by God’s amazing grace and through our faith in Jesus Christ, we are justified and redeemed from sin. This also means that we claim ourselves to be the sons & daughters of Jesus Christ. In that context alone, we are meant to reflect Christ’s character for we have claimed Him to be our redeemer. So, because of the love we have for Him and the price He paid for us, we are called to be Chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, peculiar people (1 Peter 2:9) to live a life without sin and thus persevering to keep the law of God, for the bible says..”If you love me, keep my commandments” (John 14:15).

Praise God for we are justified by the faith we have in Jesus Christ and not our deeds.

This week’s topic is about Environment and some of the very first things that might storm your mind are lush green forests, deep blue oceans, colorful flowers, amazing animals etc. I looked up the meaning on dictionary.com website and this is what environment is defined as – “the aggregate of surrounding things, conditions, or influences;”

The word of God says – “the earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it;” Psalms 24:1

For people who don’t recall the creation story…the verse above is a solid proof of this earth being created and owned by the Almighty True God. Even though this earth belongs to God, it was designed and created for us Human beings. It is amazing to know that, even before mankind was created…God thought about us humans and set the stage of the world with absolute perfection in every corner of this planet.(Reminds me of a verse – “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart;” Jeremiah 1:5)

God created this entire planet for us humans to enjoy and be blessed with. Everything in the Garden of Eden was meant to complement and provide the nourishment we need. It was also a responsibility given to us to take care of this planet. We can know that for sure by this verse – “…God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth” Genesis 1:28.

Yes, sin changed the whole state of this environment, but that doesn’t in any way defy the truth of God’s marvelous handiworks that can be still visible throughout this earth.

There is a very famous saying, ‘With great power comes great responsibility’. In other words this can also be expressed as stewardship. Unfortunately, our human race has failed terribly when it comes to being a good steward of nature. Now I am not talking only about those billion dollar companies that are involved in exploiting the natural resources of this earth, I am talking about each and every individual (including myself) who tend to take the responsibility of caring for the nature for granted. It starts with simple things like not wasting water, recycling, planting more trees etc. Small things do count.

This planet is our home and when God gave it to us, it was perfect. Just because sin exists doesn’t mean that we can blame it all on Satan. We still have the power to make a difference.

Would you give up on your relationship with Jesus Christ, just because sin exists…I doubt that. Likewise, we should never take our responsibility of caring for the environment and nature for granted. Let us pay attention to small day to day things through which you can protect and care for this wonderful planet earth.

May be you can start by a simple act of not wasting water when you brush your teeth (or) remembering to recycle paper and save paper by printing on both sides, etc…Its time for you to pick something that will help you be a good steward of God’s gift of nature.

His Righteousness
(I changed the title purposefully from just Righteousness to His Righteousness…Read on to find out why I did that)

When I hear (or) read this word, my brain is stormed with both positive and negative feelings. On the negative side - I feel guilty, shameful, lost knowing that as a mere human being I am no where close to being righteous. On the positive side - I feel forgiven, honored and saved realizing that I have Jesus Christ as my savior. I would like you to hold on to these feelings (only if you feel the same), because this is what we are going to be talking about in this lesson.

Let’s do a little recap of your life. I would like you to go back to the time when you accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior. The very first feeling that probably hit you is the feeling of being free from sin and the excitement of living a new life without sin (or) in the context of this lesson…living a righteous (blameless & right with God) life. From my personal experience and you can relate to this too, that before we even completed celebrating our victory over sin, we would have fallen again. All that good feeling and the determination of leading a righteous life, yet again seems to be an impossible task to achieve.

It is this feeling of guilt (for sinning), shamefulness (for dishonoring God with our actions), lost (the fear of God rejecting us) brings us to our knees that, we cannot do this on our own. The best part is that, Jesus Christ doesn’t want us to do this on our own. He already paid the price by shedding His precious and righteous blood on the cross for us, so that we can be eligible to stand in the Holy presence of a sinless, pure and holy God – “For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him” 2 Corinthians 5:21

This is the melting point where your feelings change from being guilty to being forgiven (for God has promised to forgive your sins), shameful to being honored (for God has called you to be His sons & daughters), from feeling lost to being saved (for Jesus Christ paid the ultimate price). This my dear loved ones is ‘IMPUTED RIGHTEOUSNESS’

So often, we get carried away by the thought that, our good deeds make us righteous. The word of God is very clear that our righteous acts cannot and will not make us righteous. “Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost” Titus 3:5

Now, let’s not draw a conclusion here very soon that, we are not called to live a righteous life (or) can live a sinful life because Christ has already saved us.

Think about this, Jesus Christ gave His robe of righteousness for us by sacrificing his life and that is Christ’s way of showing His love for us (An action). Now as Christians we obviously are indebted and if at all anything are grateful for His gift of salvation, because of which we all love Him. Just words of ‘I love my Jesus’ cannot be comprehended as true love for God. The best part is that, Jesus Himself told us as to how we can show our love to Him and I quote Jesus Christ’s words – “If ye love me, keep my commandments” John 14:15

With that made clear, our love requires action. We are not the most perfect people to be able to do everything right off the back. But in order to carry our righteous acts, we need the true source and essence of Christ’s love and righteousness in us and Praise God, that He has promised to give it to us*.(* Refer Matthew 5:6) This my beloved brothers and sisters is ‘IMPARTED RIGHTEOUSNESS’

Just remember…we are nothing but an empty vessel that needs:

the Imputed Righteousness of Jesus Christ to be worthy of salvation and

the Imparted Righteousness of Jesus Christ to be equipped to live and serve God & man.

The most significant highlight of Christianity lies in the fact, that Christians are led by a wonderful and loving God Jesus Christ. Christians are blessed with the word of God (The Bible) which is filled with stories, instructions and guidelines as to how should one live their lives. This blessing of clear guidance and leadership though is a wonderful blessing to Christians; it seems to be a form of dictatorship for others who don’t believe in the true God. One of the main excuses given by people who don’t trust in the true loving God is that, God doesn’t know (or) at times doesn’t understand man’s situations.

As humans, we tend to forget that for everything God expects from us, He already has set an example and is still Himself a role model for us. Just like every other fruit of the spirit we have learnt thus far (Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, and Goodness) God is the great model for this week’s fruit of the spirit – Faithfulness

Throughout the Bible right from the beginning, we can see God’s faithfulness towards mankind with the way He keeps His promises. Every time He promised to either bless (or) protect, God has been faithful in fulfilling His promises. It’s not just words that came out of His mouth; there were appropriate actions also that followed His words.

Faithfulness is not some kind of quality (or) characteristic that can stay dormant inside you. Faithfulness involves and REQUIRES ACTION. It is the exhibition of your faith. In the 11th chapter of the book of Hebrews, there is a list of people who were very faithful to God. Their faith is commendable due to the extreme decisions and actions they took. Regardless of their circumstances, irrespective of the kind of environment they were in, in spite of the hardships they were going through, these men portrayed the true essence of faithfulness.

Some of the main challenges we face in regards to faithfulness in today’s world are:

a) Temporal Pleasures – Instant gratification of one’s desires

b) Compromises of values & beliefs – An attitude of ‘Nothing wrong if it is done once in a while’

One of the most fascinating and wonderful attribute of Jesus Christ was the way, he drew attention from huge groups of people. Every small village and big city he visited, he always had a huge crowd behind him. There were so many reasons as to why people followed Him. But from reading the Bible and learning from most of the gospel writers, we can understand that…Jesus Christ’s power to heal was a well known fact to everyone who followed Him. It was not because He was a famous physician, it was only because He never turned down anyone who came to Him in faith of being healed and that underlying factor of Jesus Christ accepting and wanting to heal others was the very reflection of His purest form of Kindness.

Based on Colossians 3:12, Christians are called to be kind, not for the sake of self glory but for the sake of reflecting Christ’s character through them (I hope every Christian remembers that we are to reflect Christ & not ourselves in anything and everything we do). The essence and significance of Kindness lies in the fact that, there is always a proactive action involved by one person (Kind person) to another person (Receiver of the kindness). We all at some point of our life have been either on the giving end (or) the receiving end.

Unfortunately for most individuals, the act of kindness depends on the kind of person, his/her background, what kind of benefit we might get (immediate/near future) etc. But according to Jesus Christ, kindness is to depend on only one factor and that is the honest desire to be of help to others. Hence, a good way of examining ourselves with respect to our act of kindness is to, question and examine if our act of kindness is motivated by selfless & self-sacrificial love (or) by selfish desires of mutual benefit.

There are different forms of expressing kindness…but I think ‘Words & Acts’ interpret kindness at its strongest form. It was Jesus Christ’s words that most of the time melted people’s hearts and His actions showed His true compassion to His fellow brethren.

Kind words are easy written than practiced in day to day situations….specially the time when you are annoyed and made fun of by your worst enemies….But that’s where, we are called to exhibit kindness.(Proverbs 15:1). Kind actions are supposed to be selfless and readily available to people especially who don’t deserve it (Just like Jesus is kind to you and me…the worst sinners who don’t deserve anything from Christ)

Bottom line……you and I cannot exhibit kindness by mere passive state of mind…we must be proactive and action oriented to find every possible situation to be kind to others. This will not only be a blessing to others, but will also be a witness to the world about the God we worship.

Remember…….It is nice to be important, but it is very important to be nice.

We all are in the midst of this country’s most festive seasons of the year. Just wrapped up Thanksgiving with all of that family fellowship and great food, for which I guess some of us are still working out to shed that turkey fat (Non – Vegetarians), tofurkey (Vegetarians) and mash potatoes (I guess for vegans) not quite sure, But I guess you get the point.

Next coming up soon right around the corner is Christmas – shopping gifts for loved ones, Carol singing, setting up the Christmas trees, all of that Christmas spirit in the air. Not to mention that the poor and needy consider the Christmas season to be one of their top favorites, since that’s when they really feel special. That’s when they feel like God takes time to have mercy on this group of people, because of compasssion filled Christmas activities like homeless feeding, gifts for orphan kids, special visits by church members to hospitals and elderly care homes etc.(All that good stuff happens more often this month, than any other month of the year)

Then it’s time for the most amazing experience, when the whole world enjoys bidding farewell to 2009 and then says ‘Hellooooo 2010’! The New Year’s Eve parties and New Year’s early morning service at churches praying for a good year. The time of the year, when all of us look back into our past to see if we have something to learn, something to cherish and something to never forget, we also write down our new year resolutions with the hope that we will change and see ourselves as a new person.

Ahhhhhhhhh………and the routine continues year after year like 2007, 2008, 2009 and now in couple of weeks 2010.

As Christians, in our spiritual walk with our Lord Jesus Christ;

Do we have seasons of spirituality?

Do we have specific times of our life when we feel like getting close to God?

Do we have mood swings as to when to serve the Lord?

Do we wait for opportunities to help the poor & needy?

Sadly to say, some of us do.

My dear brothers & sisters, the word of God says “preach the Word; be instant in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine” II Timothy 4:2

We are not called to wait for specific time and season of the year to worship and serve our Lord Jesus Christ, we are not called to show our love to our enemies only during social gatherings, we were not chosen to share our resources with the under privileged people only during the time of giving gifts.

We sometimes behave as seasonal Christians, serving the Lord and proclaiming His gospel only on the day we go to church, rather than being Christians 24/7 all our life.

We often wait for seasons to come by (like Christmas, Thanksgiving etc) to help the poor and needy, when God has called us to serve and help the helpless at all times.

My dear friends, Christ’s birth on this sinful planet and His priceless sacrifice at that old rugged cross was not meant for us to live our lives as part time Christians, but rather exemplify His name by living everyday for His honor and glory.

So, let’s not be seasonal Christians, but be a Christian through all seasons.

As Christians, our sole role & responsibility is to worship the one & only Almighty Lord and Savior Jesus Christ by dedicating our lives for His glory and honor. I know…..we all have heard this line time and time again either at our church services, our youth camp outs, our family worship times (or) sometimes from the small still voice that whispers in our ears once in a while. I can definitely say that I didn’t have any problem writing the first line above, atleast after being a Christian for quite sometime now. But the question to be asked to ourselves is – “Are we practicing the line that we write and hear so often as Christians in our day to day lives?”

The Israelites who were rescued from the bondage of the Egyptians, surely knew (or) atleast were instructed and taught about their responsibility and allegiance to the sovereign God who saved them and promised them a new life filled with happiness. God knew that humans are weak people and in order to help them and remind them about His love and His plan to save them from eternal death, He instituted the Sanctuary services. Every detail about the Sanctuary & the services involved were object lessons, describing the importance of worship & dedication to God. It was designed and meant to be followed a specific way in order to help the Israelites to remember and remain faithful to the Almighty God.

The Altar dedication can teach us 2 things that we need to pay attention to and something that we can relate to our practical day to day life:

a) The people spent 12 days (One day at a time) of dedicating their time & resources by bringing offerings to the Altar – This signifies the importance of the time we need to be spending with God & the talents we need to be using to glorify Him (Numbers 7:11-88)

b) After the 12 days, Moses went in and the Lord God spoke to Him – This signifies that the Lord will for sure honor & bless our sincere efforts of building a healthy relationship with Him. (Numbers 7:89)

The Light in the Sanctuary represented the fact that, God was always there to guide and protect the Israelites. As long as they had their eyes and spirits fixed upon that light, they were rest assured about God’s Holy presence being with them. It also reminded them about all the times that God had led them thus far in their lives, irrespective of the kind of problems they had to go through. Likewise as Christians, we need to take time to focus on God’s light that has always guided us through the wildest & toughest parts in our lives. When we stay focused on the things that God has done for us in the past, it will help us to understand better the love that He has for us.

Last part of this topic is about the dedication of the Levites. If you read Numbers 8, there are a lot of things that they go through in order to make sure that, they are ready to serve the Lord. We can talk all day long about every single act that the Levites were expected to do, but the ultimate bottom line behind the whole process is to help us understand as to how important it is, for us as Christians to realize our purpose in life and to fulfill it for the honor & glory of God. (Providing some basic needs of that homeless man on the street, helping your parents & siblings with those home chores, forgiving those painful hurts caused by your friends…..)

Have you ever pondered upon the fact that, all throughout history, it is God who is always behind humans to save them, by guiding them when they need direction, protecting them when they are in trouble, providing alternate ways to overcome temptation…honestly…for me personally it seems that God has always and is still going way out of His way to help us, Obviously that’s because He loves us abundantly.

If you agree with me in regards to God going out of His way to help us and if you truly love Him (or) you are in the process to getting to love Him, It’s time to reevaluate your life and ask yourself..

Dating in today’s world involves the process of two individuals (a man and a woman) getting to know each other for various different reasons. Some of the reasons are genuine while most of them, sadly, are not. The only reason I say that is because dating has turned out to be the opportunity for people to meet up with each other for mutual benefits, when actually the core essence of dating is to genuinely get to know each other, understand each other’s interests, values, and beliefs for a greater purpose.

A certain degree of maturity is a very essential prerequisite to the dating journey. When a boy (or) a girl decides to start dating someone, the first and foremost factor that has to be taken into consideration is to think about the long term potential of the relationship. Because, when a person dates someone just for fun, to kill time, to make someone else jealous, or to prove one’s dating skills, the relationship typically won’t last in the long run.

Being in a relationship impacts both parties. Thus, the dangers involved in a short term relationship that started for wrong reasons can heavily affect both people. Depression, anger, disappointment, emotional hurt, mental instability and resentment are just a few of the land mines that litter the dating field. An insufficiently considered relationship could even lead to an individual completely negating all relationships in their lives due to this particular bad experience. Finally, when an individual decides to settle in their life with someone special that he/she is really in love with, all of their past baggage will potentially be carried into their new relationship. Realistically, it will take time and effort to cleanse the heart and mind for a new relationship.

Overall, dating, as something that is significantly important, must be approached with a certain degree of maturity especially if one wants to avoid complications in the long run and wants the best in terms of a long-lasting relationship of happiness.

I strongly believe that dating is a stepping stone in the direction of marriage. It is a foundation that should be carefully laid to build your way towards marriage. So, when two individuals (male & female) start dating, having marriage as the final destination is always a healthy way of building strong relationship. Let me qualify that statement. When 2 individuals (male & female) date each other, they are in the process of getting to know each other’s values and beliefs, understanding their strengths and weaknesses, and building their bonds towards the possibility of living a life together. This means that they have to understand the value of a healthy marriage which involves commitment, loyalty, love and respect for each other. If both the individuals can understand and practice those values during their dating period, they are bound to succeed with their relationship in the long run.

So, marriage regardless of being between SDAs or a non-SDAs, should be in the minds of the individuals dating with each other. Why? Focusing on marriage and its long term implications will help the dating couple to start their relationship with an open mind toward honestly and genuinely learning about each other’s values, culture, and beliefs. Then, they can decide for themselves if that relationship is something that would last forever.

God intended marriage for man and woman to be together so it’s all the more important to take time and be more serious about dating someone, especially if their values and beliefs are different. Learning and understanding each other is always a healthy way of dating and it builds the bond of love much more strongly. It’s always good to build the wall of love with truth, honesty and genuine compassion rather than lies and deception for temporary pleasure.

There once lived a young boy, who was very well taken care of by his family. He had all the wealth he could ever imagine to have, all the comfort he could enjoy, and all the service he was offered by the servants of his home. Bottom line, he was living his life like a king. He then one day decided to let go of everything he had and go out into a new world that promised him more pleasure and satisfaction than his current life. The boy’s father requested him to stay, but the boy decided to leave, since he believed to have found the place of true happiness. He joined some of his friends in the exploration and left everything behind that belonged to him. The boy eventually realized that the world he dreamt of was after all nothing but an illusion of pleasure and happiness. For everything was temporary. He then decided to go back to his father’s home, asked for forgiveness and then spent the rest of his life understanding where the true love, complete satisfaction and eternal happiness was. – (In the presence of his Father)

The above story may sound very familiar…..yes friends it’s the modified, condensed version of the ‘Prodigal Son’.

The opening text for this week is “Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him”. 1 John 2:15

Let’s break down the story into 2 parts to understand the above mentioned verse and how it relates to us on a daily basis.

Part 1:

The young boy started falling in love with the things of the world. Things that brought pleasure to his eyes, his mind, his body like pride of handling things on his own, Adultery, Fornication, Idolatry (Other Gods including TV, Internet, education, career etc anything that distracts us from God) Ref: Galatians 5:19-21

Even though he knew and had experienced his father’s love and provision, yet the desire to venture and try new things regardless of the warning by his father led him to separate himself from his father’s house.

So, the love for the world separated the young boy from his father, which eventually led him to more trouble and misery

Part 2:

By making the decision to follow his own desires, the son overthrew the love and sacrifice his father had done for all through his life. At the point, when the son decided to seek after his own pleasures, he dishonored his father’s plans for his future. He was portraying the fact that, his love for the new world was much better in comparison to the all the love he had received and experienced throughout his past life.

In simple words, the son showed through his actions and decisions, that he no longer loved his father, but the new world and the things it had to offer.

Part 3: (From this verse… “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness”. 1 John 1:9)

This part is something that has to be paid close attention to, since it is something that we all have questions and doubts about. The topic of ‘Forgiveness’. When the son came to his senses and understood that he made a mistake, he decided to go back to his father and ask for forgiveness and he did receive his forgiveness.

The point is, sometimes we feel that we don’t deserve it, but let’s not forget that Jesus loved us, before we even thought of loving Him, He made it possible that we can live, through His sinless life. So, all we need to do is realize our mistakes, stop choosing the world and take Jesus as our personal Saviour and through His name, we can claim His forgiveness.

Conclusion:

My dear friends, the world does have a lot to offer, specially the things that would bring great pleasure and joy to our lives, but not to our souls.

It all starts with 1 small desire that has to do with a little bit of compromise, which most of the time is taken for granted. We are Christians, we can handle it…just doing it once is not going to hurt…we can stop it before it gets worse….all those thoughts are nothing but a very clever tactic that satan uses against us.

Please think about those small, little, compromises that we do on a daily basis and start comparing them to the love and sacrifice of Jesus Christ for our lives not just in this world, but for the world to come.

It’s JUST NOT WORTH IT……Let’s pray hard to denounce the world and the things in it, so we don’t get carried away and be lost in this world. The time is near and we all have to be ready for His Second coming. It’s high time that we start prioritizing our lives and our choices, for we are God’s chosen ones and we are meant to be saved.

What’s your choice? – The World (or) God

A pastor had been counseling a husband and wife. The problem was that, the husband had been having extramarital affairs. That’s not an extramarital affair but, in fact, many of them. The husband tried to calm the situation by telling the wife that although he had been with other women, it didn’t mean that he didn’t love her. In fact, he said, he loved her more than any of the other. Of course, those words by the husband made things worse.(Story from the lesson study)

Well, the problem here seems to be very clear. The husband states that he loves his wife, but actually continues to have affairs with other women. But loving his wife meant for him to be faithful, loyal and committed (ALL ACTIONS) to his wife for the rest of his life. So, obviously the love for his wife wasn’t quite genuine since his actions weren’t portraying even a bit of the love he claimed to have for his wife.

As Christians, we sometimes (or) should I rather say, most of the times find ourselves in the shoes of the husband we just read about, claiming to love God in mere words and not in our actions.

We say that we love God, because we know who He is and what He has done for us. But I guess that’s all we do. We claim to have the knowledge of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ for mankind, we portray our knowledge about the doctrines and stories in the bible by seminars, bible studies etc, we even try teaching others with the knowledge we have about the law of God……..but very often we miss out on the very basics and that is the knowledge we had acquired as Christians eventually remains only as knowledge and not as something that cleanses and transforms our lives on a daily basis.

The word of God says “And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments”. 1 John 2:3.

All of the Pharisees, educated professionals during time of Jesus knew God and also kept the law very faithfully, yet their lives did not portray (or) reflect the character of Jesus Christ (or) the kind of life that Jesus was teaching them to live.

Well, then that’s a problem. In order to understand the part they missed on, we need to dive into the scriptures again. The Holy bible says – “If ye love me, keep my commandments”. John 14:15. So, the missing link is LOVE.

In order to KNOW God, we need to have an interest in Him and we need to spend time with Him, which basically means to LOVE Him, to have that intimate relationship with Him. Once we get that part down, obedience to His LAW is something that will follow through in our actions. Let’s also not forget that the very same law of God talks about the love we should have for mankind.

Below is a pictorial illustration of the concept I just described.

When we really love a person, we will do everything possible to make sure that we please that person and let the person know of our love through our actions, which also means that we love our annoying brothers, crazy sisters, ungrateful friends including those strange people whom we just can’t stand (or) don’t like for some silly reasons.

My dear friends Jesus Christ will acknowledge you KNOWING Him & YOU loving Him only through your actions (the 10 commandments) for HIM and for HIS WORLD.
